Placing concrete underwater is a challenging operation due to the logistics of supply, accessibility to the site and poor visibility in the underwater placement area. Mix design and material selection are essential to a successful outcome.
We have supplied concrete for underwater placement by combining technical knowledge of anti-washout mix design with the right placement equipment and delivery sequencing.
The mix must remain cohesive enough to resist washout and segregation as it displaces water, while staying fluid enough to self-compact without any mechanical vibration — a narrow window that has to be proven on trial mixes before the pour.
